Message from the Director

Dear Friends and Colleagues

Fr Wilfred Fernandes, SDB
Director

The preventive system is a model for educators to bring the young to a successful and sure path of moral and cultural development and happiness. This is why Joy and Enthusiasm pervades the atmosphere of education at Don Bosco Parra.

The institution at Don Bosco Parra was established in 2000 and is run by the Goa Salesian Society. Here, we offer our services to the young who find it difficult to cope up with academics in the regular schooling system.

We help students prepare for the NIOS exams offering them subjects that they can excel in, thereby enabling them to complete their X Standard and XII Standard certifications. We create an environment where they are able to imbibe the Don Bosco values and culture incorporating academics, sports, moral values, music and cultural events which gives them a chance to showcase their talents and creativity.

Our infrastructure has seen continuous improvement from a villa to a multipurpose Hall to the current facilities which include the Main Building, the Auditorium and Sports Facilities comprising a Basketball court, Football ground, Volleyball courts as well as Badminton and Table Tennis.

Our classrooms and computer lab are well equipped and conducive for academic improvement. We have a team of dedicated and experienced staff who have been serving the Institution for many years and are ever-ready to encourage and support our students beyond their call. We also have regular counselling sessions for our students and offer facilities for music classes.

The Youth Welfare Centre caters to the recreational needs of the students and the neighbourhood offering them indoor and outdoor sports facilities. Ranging from the summer club during the May holidays to sporting activities all year around it is a joy to see the youngsters as well as the seniors choosing this opportunity to stay fit and interact with each other. Over the years we have offered Vocational training courses for the neighbourhood to help in sustainability and development.

In the coming year, we intend to offer our students a dual certification in academics and vocational skill-based training which will be government certified. In the current COVID situation, this will enable them to realize their career aspirations as well as be employment-ready.

I look forward to welcoming the new batch of students to the Institution as well as interacting and forging relationships with our Alumni of the past 20 years.

Regards
Fr Wilfred Fernandes SDB
