Education Must Go On - July 2021 - October 2021

Covid-19 came like a thief in the night and shook up everybody's daily routines and lifestyle. Institutions were closed and everybody was confined to their homes. Education was one of the sectors worst affected by the extended lockdown. Despite the threat, Don Bosco Youth Centre braved the odds to offer its students an opportunity to continue their education from their own homes.

Arrangements were made for classes to be taken online via Zoom and teachers would come to the centre to take their classes. Classes ran as usual from 9 to 12.30 albeit online. The office functioned as usual through the high and low of the pandemic so as to facilitate the teaching and learning experience of both staff and students. Due to the pandemic there was a decline in the number of students and irregularity in attendance but on the whole, things worked out quite well as teachers were able to cover the portion and students were able to follow the classes as best they could. Tests and exams were conducted online so as to evaluate the student's comprehension. The initiative was appreciated by the students who didn't feel abandoned during the pandemic.
